A Love Letter to the Earth

what if we didn’t take from the earth

but we took from the earth

took the lessons that she whispers 

recognizing the trees that once stood 

those that have gone live in the stumps that

hold us up

took the wisdom of patience and gentle strength 

allowing things to grow as they’re meant to 

not forcing the flow 

took from the elements

the patterns 

love and sustenance
